I Wrote 37 Articles with ZERO Engagement, until I Discovered…

How small changes in mindset can lead to massive results

4 min readOct 26, 2023

I remember those early days when I felt like I was shouting into a void. I’d pour my heart and soul into my writing, hoping to get a bit of recognition or at least some engagement. But NOTHING, for the first 37 articles I wrote, it felt like I was talking to a brick wall.

I mean, I’ve been in this game for a little over 54 days (not long, but seems like a long time when you write almost an article a day — been listening to those writing gurus), writing about everything from branding to startup knowledge, and even diving deep into fundraising once. I realized that I need to pivot change. But it was only when I shared my personal journey with “Build in Public” that things started to change.

You see, I used to spend hours crafting these perfect articles, only to get a minimum lukewarm response. Only a few, did okay because I shared it on my Twitter and Instagram, but after the 1st initial two, my followers from the other platform didn’t read it anymore. It was disheartening, to say the least. I’d often wonder if my work was even worth it. Was I doing something wrong? Was I not good enough? Is my writing really that bad?
